We archive over 23,000 ft (> 7 km) of coastal plain cores and maintain an active field program examining coastal plain outcrops cooperation with the New Jersey Geological and Water Survey (NJGS).  We are supervising 3 interns revisiting sites drilled in the 1991 by the NJGS/USGS (e.g., Cape May Airport, Belleplain, and Freehold cores) to develop modern descriptions and archives as part of a cooperative study with the Delaware Geological Survey and USGS MatStrat program. We are proposing a Paleocene/Eocene thermal maximum (PETM) drilling campaign in 2023-2025 under the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program.

WHATS NEXT:  We are continuing to develop site reports for NJGS/USGS cores, map sequences in various time intervals (Miocene, Oligocene, Eocene, Paleocene) in the coastal plain, and planning for PETM drilling.  We have at least one internship/independent/honors study of the Campanian-Maastrichtian at Big Brook, Hop Brook, and other localities.
