David Tibbits competed in the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and presented multiple exhibits. The first exhibit to highlight is "Earth's Timekeepers," which showcased U/Pb geochronology and the minerals that can be dated. This was a collaboration between David, Sean Kinney, and Tama Higuchi. They were honored with the Kay Robertson Award for the best educational exhibit by individuals at the show, which was presented by the Friends of Mineralogy.

In addition, David presented two other exhibits. His Master's Level Single Locality Peruvian mineral exhibit earned 2nd place in the master's level single locality category. His Master’s Level Thumbnail Mineral Exhibit, featuring worldwide minerals up to 1 cubic inch, won 1st place in the master's thumbnails category, Best in Show for the highest-scoring case overall, and the Lidstrom Memorial Trophy for the best individual piece in a competition exhibit.

Congratulations! tibbits
