Hess, AnyaAnya Hess, our newest PhD alumna, received the following message from the School of Graduate Studies:

“We are pleased to inform you that your nomination for the Outstanding Doctoral Student Merit and Achievement Award was selected to receive the award. The review committee that evaluated the applications said the quality of the nominees was especially high this year.  You should be very proud of your accomplishments!”

Anya is a postdoctoral research scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Her work on applying ocean oxygenation proxies to past warm intervals provides important information for future oxygen ocean levels in critical places. Yair Rosenthal was her thesis advisor at Rutgers.
