Recent EPS Ph.D. graduate, Christina Verhagen, was awarded funding by the U.S. Science Support Program (USSSP) and International Ocean Discover Program (IODP): Novel projects in support of ocean drilling. Her postdoctoral research entitled, "Alteration in the top of the Atlantis Massif: Microenvironments primed for life at Lost City Hydrothermal Field" will investigate shallow subsurface specimens from the Atlantis Massif sampled during IODP Expedition 357. Her work is sponsored by Michigan Technological University, Montclair State University and the Smithsonian Institute. |
