Anya Hess, Ph.D. student in Earth and Planetary Sciences, was selected as 1 of 3 winners of the Cushman Foundation 2020 William V. Sliter Student Research Award for studies that focus on Mesozoic and Cenezoic foraminifera. Her project titled “Drivers of the Middle Miocene Shift in Benthic Foraminiferal Assemblages Under the Eastern Equatorial Pacific Oxygen Minimum Zone.” will examine the paleo-productivity in the eastern equatorial Pacific during the Middle Miocene.
