Boyd Melissa Lomekwi 2019Earth and Planetary Sciences Ph.D. student, Melissa Boyd, was selected as 1 of the 2 recipients of the Rutgers Center for Human Evolutionary Studies 2020 Albert Fellows Dissertation Research Grant.  This grant provides major funding for advanced doctoral students dissertation research studying the survival of animals and plants threatened by the deterioration of the environment.  Melissa's project, titled "A monsoon index for the Turkana Basin: A predictive and retrodictive method for understanding climate change", looks at the affects of climate change on the organisms in the Turkana Basin of northern Kenya.
