Basis for Grades:

Five Midterms ~17% each –Format:  Multiple-choice and/or short answers. The midterms will be cumulative.

 

In-class quizzes and exercises worth 1 midterm ~17% combined

Quiz format:  Multiple-choice, and will be given during and/or after lectures.  Quizzes will not be announced prior to the day of the quiz. There will be NO make-ups for the quizzes.  The lowest two quizzes will be dropped for your combined quiz score.  Any extra-credit assignments will be at my discretion and be available to all class members.

 

Scores will be curved. However, the grades typically fall in the following range:

 

A: 100-88; B+: 87-80; B: 80-75; C+: 74-66; C: 65-58; D: 57-50; F: <50

 

Attendance:  All students are expected to attend all class periods.  All students are expected to arrive on time (8:40 am) and to remain in class until the end of the class period (10:00 am), unless dismissed by the instructor.  As a courtesy to everyone, cell phones must be turned off.

Announcement(s):  Class is cancelled for Thursday 3-27.  The midterm has been rescheduled for Tuesday 1-1.  The exam will cover chapters 7, 16 thru 19 and all previous material covered.
