Professor Burckle's Syllabus

Textbook: Earth: Portrait of a Planet" by S. Marshak

There will be three exams during the semester including the Final Exam. The Final Exam will not be cumulative. Exams will include diagrams drawn and discussed during lectures. If you have questions about any aspect of the course I can be more easily reached at the telephone number given for Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory or by email. Questions for each exam will be returned two weeks after the exam. Those questions that are not picked up on that day will be thrown out. Tests (opscan forms) that are not picked up during the semester will be thrown out at the time of the final exam. You are encouraged to do three things: 1.) Keep your tests (opscan forms) until you receive the final grade and feel that the grade reflects the scores you received on the tests. 2.) When test questions are returned to you review them to insure that no mistakes were made in grading or in tabulating your score. 3.) Check the web homepage from time to time for any announcements. "Department policy is that no make-up exams will be given without WRITTEN documentation from a Rutgers University official."
